Shadow Prints

In my Shadow or “Ombre” Prints, the shadows become protagonists — crossing streets, talking on a corner, carrying a trombone or a bouquet. They interact yet are opposite sides to a complicated world defined by night and day, the sleeping and waking world. They appear only as the shapes they cast on pavement and walls. Without faces or detail, they become pure gesture and silhouette — at once anonymous and theatrical. It is left to the viewer to imagine the lives and stories of those who cast them.
